It would be the months of the great summer holidays at school, and I would spend them in my grandfather’s in Cefalu, Sicily.

My sister took me to the airport. It was twenty-five degrees in my town at seven o’clock in the morning.
– Emma, open the windows of the car, please, I want to feel the wind touching my skin. –  said Annabelle.
– Annabelle! – my sister spoke to me after opening the windows in the car. – You must be so excited, you’re going to visit grandmother in Italy.
– Yes, Yes, Yes! – I answered with a smile.
In fact, I had my heart beating so fast.
The trip from Toronto to Italy was very tiring, but my enthusiasm was stronger.
– It’s good to see you, Bells, – my grandmother said, smiling, as she gripped me tightly. – Was the trip nice?
– Yes, I missed you so much. – I said.
– My dear, and I missed you more. – replied Anna, to Anabelle’s grandmother. – Today we will have lunch at one of the most beautiful landscapes of the island.
The landscape was, of course, beautiful, but my family completed the view we had to the sea.

A minha irmã levou-me ao aeroporto.
– Annabelle – disse-me a minha irmã, após abrir as janelas do carro. – Deves estar ansiosa, vais visitar a avó , em Itália.
– Sim, sim, sim!
– Correu bem a viagem?
– Sim, tinha muitas saudades tuas – respondi.
– Minha querida, e eu tuas.
