I already knew why I recognised that place, it was once one of my favourite childhood places. However, this time it would all not be a dream. There would have been an eternity in another life, maybe … It was a dream he’d had last night after seeing an old childhood movie made by his uncles, second cousins.
For most of the journey, we walked in silence. The path was for the most part covered with huge trees, the wooden walkways were sometimes smooth and there was a unique and fragrant smell that especially characterised the forest. As I was advancing I could hear the sound of my footsteps on the sodden land, the birds were quiet and drops of water was falling from the leaves, so it must be raining.
Time began to pass faster. We had no idea of the days that was passing when we were on vacation – there was no point we were just trying to enjoy every day. We left the city at 6 o’clock in the morning, the direction was to the north, for a wooden bridge that follows, sometimes inside or inside the forest – surrounded by trees – and then, in the background, a closed fog over mountains, a breathtaking view. That place was so enthusiastic.
It was an impressive vision, especially to who had never seen such a thing: the sky was covered with clouds, which formed various kind of different shapes as animals, trees, some mountains, a river, it seemed to form a wild kingdom. – Bella, why do you look at the sky? Joshua asked. Bella turned her head, not sure what Joshua was asking her.
My eyes closed suddenly. A dense concentration of bushes concealed my face. – What are you doing, Sophie? He waited a few moments. “Well,” he said slowly, “to remind me of my childhood. “Hmm,” Alex muttered.
